Reviews
Social distancing and masks are required. I didn't want anything in today, so I chose a Jamaican beef patty, and coco bread. My husband had the same as I did. Our son ordered curry chicken, plantains, peas and rice and a piece of corn bread. The patty was seasoned really well, and my son said his food was delicious. This restaurant is a West Indies grocery store, so if you're looking for seasoning, rice, peas and etc, you will definitely find it here. We will be back soon.
2nd rating: 4/5 stars again! Exactly 2 weeks and I've come back to try the curry chicken lunch special this time around. Curry chicken was a bit dry (still good) but wish it had a lil more flavor (again still good tho just not the best, jerk chicken def is the better choice). Cabbage: also is good, I've def had better but it's good, had the right amount of crunch. I'm not a cabbage expert tho, but to me it was good, nothing to harp about though. Rice and beans: good, this time i remembered and got them to put the jerk sauce on the rice, which i recommend !! Jerk chicken patty: this was also good but def not better than the beef. Flavorful, moist, the breading wasn't as flaky as the beef patty, i wish it was. But still overall good, first time? Get the beef.I'll be back to try the stewed chicken before i move on to the next Jamaican spot I'll focus on lol. Also the front desk lady is SO NICE. And she remembered me. Nice people over here :)
Authentic cuisine. We love their beef patties and coco bread. Always fresh. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza. They are have a great menu. Personally we always get the patties and coco bread. You must check them out.
Being from Florida and of Caribbean descent I miss the convenience of being able to readily purchase traditional Caribbean food. Well here's Island Grocery to my rescue. Carrying an excellent variety of food, medicinal items, and skin care products that islanders know and love. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Not only is Island Grocery a grocery store it is also a restaurant! I picked up some delicious ackee and salt fish. Be sure to stop in for a hot meal or groceries.
